Santa pays another visit

Each year, Santa spends two weekends in PTC riding on the back of a local firetruck and traveling each street of the city, waving to the children and handing out candy. A smaller truck follows, collecting donations of canned goods for the food bank.

When kids and parents hear nearby sirens blaring on December Saturdays, they are not worried--they know it's just Santa coming to pay a last-minute visit!

Christmas in PTC

John and I went to Savannah recently for our 10th anniversary. The girls stayed with Grandma and Grandpa. Saturday evening, they attended the Christmas show at the amphitheater and then rode in the golf cart procession back to City Hall. We did this last year as a family, and it was nice with all the backyards along the path decorated and brightly lit. There were even some people playing live Christmas music along the path. I know it was just as nice this year.

Santa Claus led the cart procession to City Hall for the Christmas tree lighting.

Madeline got to help the Mayor turn the switch to light the tree! (That's her in the blue jacket--that photo was actually on the front of our local paper, which was good because the year before, Veronica made it on the front page for the very same event!)

Here's a picture of Veronica at the tree lighting this year. (Also, Clarence is at the rear left of that picture. We got all these pictures from the local paper's website.)

Both girls had a great time! Merry Christmas to all!
